Sapling Supply is rooted in two guiding philosophies. The first, our approach to building, is the desire to deliver furniture that is warm, welcoming and easy to access for the child. By taking the advice of school directors, guides and even students we have created a list of the essential materials needed for the Montessori Learning Environment in a streamlined catalog. The second, our approach to business is to simply provide a fully assembled, high quality, long lasting product at the best price with the most timely available shipping.
Founded by two fathers of Montessori-educated daughters, Sapling Supply is a different kind of company. We are a family business of educators and artisans. We create a beautiful foundation for your learning environment, hand-crafted in the USA. About our Products
Our furniture designs are intended to create a natural look while ensuring long lasting use at an affordable cost. Using cabinetry construction techniques our furniture is built to last while inspiring children’s curiosity by highlighting the construction process.
Our primary structural material is ¾ in. hardwood veneer plywood. This material provides structural strength, less heavy than conventional hardwood lumber, and beautifully finished.
All our furniture’s outer edges are slightly rounded and covered with a hardwood edging veneer for added comfort and esthetic beauty.
All our furniture is sealed with 5 coats of water based polycrilic. Our cured non-toxic polycrilic sealant can be easily disinfected per CDC guidelines without warping or discoloring wood.
At Sapling Supply we strive for a natural esthetic. This means we attempt to minimize our hardware needs. That said, we often need small hardware additions for added utility and convenience.
